2018 Congress Celebrations

Our 2018 Congress was one to remember!  Both of our horses, Hubbout A Dance and Walk Hubbout the Sky, brought back the big prizes.

Hubbout A Dance (aka Henry) started off a very successful show earning the bronze and Congress Champion title in the Junior Hunter Under Saddle with Dasi (Jadasa) Jablonowski.  Dasi only learned she would be showing Henry the night before the class, and quickly got into Henry into show mode.  Henry was his stellar self in the class, floating around the arena to the top place.  2018 Congress Candid (5)

The next  morning he came in third in the pleasure driving, which we were thrilled for, because we did not think he would be able to show due to a sever bug bite.  Regardless, he powered through.

As all shows go, it was not without some mishaps.  Henry spooked in a couple classes, including the maturity futurities.  However, he remained his composed self, and pulled it back together.  We quickly forgave our perfect pony–for we know that those Congress arenas can be spooky sometimes!

2018 Congress Candid (3)Henry finished out the show with a Congress Championship in the tough Amateur Hunter Under Saddle with Alicia.

And then it was on to the much anticipated 2 year old Congress Masters!  The class that everyone talks about, as they wait for the two year olds everyone has talked about all year to make their debuts.

For the first time we decided to enter one of our hunt seaters in the class.  We had planned Walk Hubbout The Sky’s (aka Hans) career since we decided to breed his mother, World Champion A Walk In the Sky, to Hubba–much like we had planned Henry’s career.  We decided this class would be the best choice because it would mean we would not have to put a two year old through a lot of hauling.  We hauled him to one show prior to the Congress and felt he was ready to Walk Hubbout the Sky - 2018 Congressmake a debut in an arena like the Celeste.

Hans was warmed up for just five minutes before he stepped into the arena that night, and he behaved perfectly! He and Beth Case tied to win and walked away Reserve Congress Masters Champion!  We are excited to watch this guy become a perfect 3 year old futurity horse and know he will have all around classes in his future as well.
